José Luis de Ramón, Managing Partner

Was born in Valencia, Spain in 1960 and resides in the Dominican Republic since the age of 16. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economy and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the “Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo”, having also participated in specialized courses in Cornell University and The University of Chicago.


He has worked as a financial consultant since 1979. Currently he is the Managing Partner of Grant Thornton República Dominicana, where he also leads the Corporate Finance division, having been involved in more than 70 mergers and acquisition transactions, among other financial transactions, such as debt restructuring, in this business area.


He has served on the boards of directors of important companies in the Dominican Republic and has participated in the executive committees of the main business associations; particularly endearing was his presidency in ANJE in 1995.


Permanently collaborates with non-profit organizations, mainly those oriented to the promotion of education.


As an economist, José Luis De Ramón has been an economics professor at various universities in the Dominican Republic and a frequent writer and lecturer on economic topics, having participated twice as a speaker in the American Chamber of Commerce.

In March 2004 he published his book on economic development, titled “Volver a Crecer” (To grow again).


José Luis De Ramón has been an economic advisor (honorary) for several state departments, as well as for the Presidency of the Republic.

In 2002 he received the Merit Award of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce (Premio al Mérito de la Cámara Española de Comercio)
